Richard Hilleman started the day with a slim championship chances. Nothing was decided, but he did what he needed to do. Rich started by taking the pole, with Matt, Marcos, Kenyon, Jon and Christopher filling out the 5 Kart field.
Rich took the lead of the first heat and lead wire to wire, The second heat was closer, with less than 7/100's separating Rich and Marcos at the finish line, but Marcos's inability to make the key next corner cost him four places in the final heat. This set up for a big feature show down. Rich let nearly the entire field by into the second corner than started to pick them off. Kenyon was first, on the outside of Kramer.
Matt was next, but he took up station right behind Rich. Finally, with three laps left, Rich challenged Marcos on the infield section, and when he crossed the start finish line, he held a lead he never gave up. Matt put on a big push at the end, but couldn't quite catch Rich. The 250 point day cut the Champs lead to 45 points going into the final round of the championship, with Matt another 45 behind.
